She was only the third woman to graduate from the University of Arkansas Law school (1939). First womanJudge in Arkansas. First woman to be appointed to the Arkansas Supreme Court. President Jimmy Carter appointed her Arkansas's first woman Federal Judge in 1975. Arkansas Democrat's "Woman of the Year" among numerous other awards. Retired and lives in Little Rock.
